The Corona Virus, or COVID-19 has turned the world upside down, but in spite of it all we have managed to carry on. Last week we spoke with three moms about how they and their families are coping with sudden change.
Courtney a wife and mom of four children was in the midst of a home remodel. Sheila a wife and mom to two preteens lives in an apartment in NYC and lacks a private backyard to escape the four walls. Danielle a single, newly engaged mom is forced to plan her wedding from home. We apologize for the sound quality, but Breanne and I are displaced from our "studios' and this time I actually recorded traveling on the expressway.
Pia and Breanne have been at home for almost 8 weeks now, and life is anything but dull. Pia and Breanne speculate about the changes that are on the horizon following COVID Quarantine 2020.
Are you pregnant and scheduled to give birth during COVID-19? Have you updated your Birth plan? Do you plan to have a Doula present? Will your state allow the father access to the Hospital while you are admitted? Having a baby is stressful enough, but with the addition of so many unknown factors during these tenuous times, new mothers need more support, not less. Pia and Breanne welcome Jessica Gonzales back to talk about delivering during a pandemic.
Lisa R. Savage of the Center for Child Development in the state of Delaware, provides both school and clinic based counseling for children AND their families. Lisa sat down with Breanne and I to discuss ways to keep our children mentally safe during COVID-19. The lives of children around the world have been disrupted as their normal routines have ceased as families are quarantined at home to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
